Page builders are built for the masses — your site is not the masses.

A page builder has to satisfy millions of websites at once, so it ships everything for everybody — whether you need it or not. That is bloat by design. Why bending ready-made software to your needs always costs performance, security or features — and what we build instead.

01Built for millions, shipped to you

A page builder or a ready-made CMS has to satisfy millions of websites at once, so it is designed around the needs of the majority: it ships everything for everybody, whether you need it or not. That is bloat by design — not an accident and not a version-one shortcut, but the direct consequence of one product trying to be everything for everyone.

And every piece bolted on for someone else's use case is another moving part on your server: another stylesheet, another script, another database table, another thing that can break, get abandoned or get attacked. You have never met the people who wrote your plugins — and they have never met your business.

02Bloat is a business model

Builder platforms earn when you install more: more add-ons, more premium widgets, more monthly seats. App-store economics reward quantity, not fit. Every extension is sold as ten lines of value and ships with two hundred lines of drag — because it, too, has to serve the masses.

The result is the classic builder site: a homepage that loads half a megabyte of JavaScript to show a headline, three slider libraries where one image would do, and a plugin stack that needs its own spreadsheet to keep track of. None of it was chosen for your visitors. All of it rides along with your business.

03The tax you pay twice

Bending ready-made software to your needs always costs performance, security or features — usually all three, one plugin at a time. The checkout you actually need takes four workarounds; every workaround adds weight; every added weight slows every visitor on every page.

Then the second tax arrives: the update treadmill. Core, theme and plugins must be patched monthly, and every auto-update can silently break what worked. That is not your business evolving — that is you paying rent on someone else's architecture.

04What 'customizable' actually means

However customizable a builder looks, it was never made for your special case. Customization means choosing from lanes somebody else paved: if your idea does not fit a lane, you either drop the idea or pay a specialist to fight the tool.

The features that would genuinely differentiate your business are always the most expensive ones — precisely because the platform was never designed to do them. That is the moment the 'affordable builder' quietly becomes the priciest option on the table.

05The alternative: code written for exactly one website

Our code is written for exactly one website: yours. Nothing built for the majority, nothing to drag along, no trade-offs. The codebase stays small enough to actually audit, fast by construction — and there is nothing to patch every month, because there is no third-party stack to patch.

That is what a remaster is: we keep the content, the branding and everything that already works — and rebuild everything else as a modern, installable PWA with real interactivity. Same company, same story; a tenth of the weight; nothing on board that is not yours.

06Already on a builder? You don't have to stay

Send us the URL. The free audit is a real human look — and instead of a long written proposal you get a working link to a live remaster of your own site, on a preview address like yoursite.mediaberg.agency. You click through the actual website before any talk of money.

Convinced? Deploying it under your own domain needs a modest payment, agreed before we start. Not convinced? You owe us nothing — and you have seen, on your own content, what 'built for one website' feels like.

Reading is cheaper than guessing.

Every article above is a pattern we've lived through with real clients. If one of them sounds like your situation — the audit is free and the numbers are real.
